ABOUT ME
Registered Clinical Psychologist
I am a New Zealand Registered Clinical Psychologist and have extensive experience in working with people on how to successfully navigate today’s fast paced and highly demanding environment, in both their professional and personal lives.
After a corporate career and retraining as a psychologist in my 40's, I have focused on working with people who are struggling and those wanting to build or maintain their resilience and thrive.
I look forward to working with you.
APPROACH
My aim is to provide a safe and compassionate space where we can explore and understand the challenges you face. We will work together to develop ways for you to move forward in a practical and meaningful way.
I use a range of evidence-based therapies including
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT),
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness based practices.
Many people also find it useful to have an independent and confidential place to reflect on how their lives are tracking and have support to make any changes they want to make.
SERVICES I OFFER
PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT
I work with adults who are experiencing,
Work related challenges (e.g., work stress, redundancy, retirement, work life balance)
Other problems in their lives (e.g., relationship difficulties, loss and grief, life transitions, behaviours they would like to change)
Mental health difficulties (e.g., anxiety, depression)
To thrive in their life (e.g., to be more fulfilled, to be the best version of themselves, more able to achieve their full potential).
I use evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness-based practices.
PROFESSIONAL COACHING
Over the past 11 years, I have worked extensively with the corporate sector supporting Professionals to successfully navigate today’s fast-paced and highly demanding environment.
I work with people to support and enhance their professional development and well-being by identifying individual and organisational barriers to well-being, determine what is working well and areas for improvement.
For example,
Identifying the Professional you want be when at your best and what's important to you as a Leader or Team Member,
Developing and maintaining positive workplace relationships
Reducing the likelihood of experiencing "Burnout".
ONLINE THERAPY (TELEHEALTH)
While Online therapy may provide us with some challenges it also has many benefits. If you have any questions or concerns please be in-touch and we can discuss if online would be suitable for you.
See below in the Resources section research that suggests online therapy is well received by clients and effective.
FAQS
1. How can therapy help me?
Therapy can help you to process distressing emotions and past experiences, identify old patterns that are no longer serving you well, and learn new ways of relating to yourself and others. It can enable healing and growth. However, these benefits are not guaranteed. People vary in their response to therapy for many different reasons. As with any process designed to bring about change, there are challenges to participating in therapy. It can be distressing to reflect on, and address, difficulties in one’s life. Also, be aware that making changes in your life is not always easy and may take a bit of time and energy, so please be patient and be prepared to “stick with it” even if it feels difficult. I will try to help you make the changes you want to make as quickly and effectively as possible.
2. When are you available?
I'm available for appointments Tuesday to Thursday. Please use my contact form and I will email you to arrange a time to talk to you over the phone before making an appointment. This call lets you get a sense of who I am and also gives me a chance to figure out if I have the skills and capacity to help. If I don’t think I’m the right person I’ll let you know who I think might be able to help.
3. Locations
Where do you work from? I offer online appointments only.
4. How long are the sessions?
The first session is typically 90min with subsequent sessions being 50-60min.

A REMINDER TO LISTEN TO EMPLOYEES:
A RECORD NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES ARE QUITTING OR THINKING ABOUT DOING SO. ORGANISATIONS THAT TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN WHY—AND ACT THOUGHTFULLY—WILL HAVE AN EDGE IN ATTRACTING AND RETAINING TALENT.
